The role of spiritual health dimensions in predicting mood disorders (depression, anxiety, stress) and sense of psychological cohesion

Abstract

The present study was carried out with the aim of investigating the role of spiritual health dimensions in predicting mood disorders and sense of psychological cohesion in Secondary female students of Qaen city. This research is descriptive-correlation type. The statistical population of this research was All female students of Qaen secondary school. Using the Kerjcie and Morgan table, 285 people were investigated as a research sample. The sampling method used was cluster sampling. Using Palotzin and Ellison spiritual health questionnaire (1982), depression, anxiety, stress (DASS) scale Lovibond and Lovibond (1995), and Antonovsky's sense of cohesion questionnaire (1987), the necessary information was collected and the results were analyzed with the help of Spss23 software and using Pearson and regression tests. The results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between the spiritual health and mood disorders, and existential health can predict mood disorders. Also, the results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between the spiritual health and the sense of psychological cohesion, and existential health can predict the sense of psychological cohesion. Spiritual health is a dimension of health that has received less attention in the education system and the results of this study can be considered in improving the spiritual health of students.
