Psychological constriction, as one of the concepts of Islamic psychology, has a close relationship with psychological distress and disorders. The purpose of the present study was to identify strategies for managing psychological constriction based on the Holy Quran. This research employed both qualitative and quantitative methods. In the qualitative section, data collection involved identifying the concept of "Ziq" (ضیق) in the Holy Quran as a representative of psychological constriction. This included examining its semantic domain and obtaining relevant and reciprocal keywords such as "Ziq" (ضیق), "Haraj" (حرج), "Qabz" (قبض), "Soo" (سوء), and "Sharh" (شرح). Initially, 216 Quranic verses were identified, which were refined to 49 verses. Subsequently, interpretive narratives related to these verses and some authentic Shiite commentaries, with a focus on the interpretation by al-Mizan, were integrated into the research scope. In the qualitative analysis section, a deductive approach was employed using thematic network analysis tools. The findings revealed that strategies for managing psychological constriction encompass five main categories: behavioral, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and social strategies, as well as 11 subcategories and 89 fundamental concepts. In the quantitative part of the research, content validity was assessed based on the opinions of 10 experts in Islamic studies and psychology. Results indicated that all main and subcategories corresponded with Quranic and interpretive documentation and were deemed essential for the thematic network. The findings of this research can be utilized for designing educational and therapeutic models rooted in Islamic teachings to manage psychological constriction.
