Abstract

Family psychological security is one of the fundamental concepts in family studies, which has received considerable attention from researchers in recent years. The purpose of this study was to examine the detrimental factors affecting family psychological security. This research was conducted as a systematic review, extracting relevant sources and studies from 2011 to 2024 from Google Scholar, NoorMags, the Scientific Information Database of Jihad Daneshgahi, and the Comprehensive Humanities Portal. Out of 457 sources, those that met the research criteria and main keywords (psychological security, family security, and psychological security within the family) and examined these relationships were included. After excluding irrelevant sources, twelve relevant studies were selected. The findings indicate that factors such as adverse childhood experiences, feelings of loneliness among family members, lack of religious practices and spirituality within the family environment, dysfunctional family structures, natural and social crises, lack of life meaning, pathological dependency and lack of individual independence among family members, marital dissatisfaction, and absence of communication skills among family members damage family psychological security. The results of this study are significant for school administrators, health officials, and educational policymakers.
