Abstract

The present study was conducted in the field with the aim of analyzing the path of marital stability through marital and external family boundaries, using the correlation method. The statistical population of the study consisted of married men and women in Qom. From this population, 180 people were selected as the research sample using the convenience sampling method and referring to the Cohen table (to determine the sample size). The sample responded to the Spanier couple stability questionnaire, Hoshyari couple stability questionnaire, and marital and external family boundaries questionnaire. The findings were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression statistical methods. The research findings showed: a) A positive and significant correlation was observed between marital stability and marital boundaries; b) There was also a positive and significant correlation between marital stability and external family boundaries; c) The results of the path analysis showed that achieving marital stability is achieved significantly through the path of marital and external family boundaries. This finding led to the confirmation of the main hypothesis of the study; The regression coefficient for both predictor variables was positive and significant, indicating that marital stability increased with increasing these boundaries. Overall, based on the research findings, an increase in marital boundaries and external family boundaries leads to an increase in marital stability.
