Abstract

.Stress resulting from the loss of loved ones is the most severe type of stress that may manifest as a set of emotional, behavioral, and physical symptoms. The aim of this study is to design a comprehensive Islamic model for the treatment of complex grief. This study was conducted using a descriptive method, using content analysis, and was validated by six experts in Islamic sciences and psychology.By studying, examining, and analyzing Islamic sources on death, grief, and mourning, an Islamic model of complex grief treatment was inferred, extracted, and organized in the form of 5 strategies and 37 therapeutic components, aimed at emotional regulation, behavioral and lifestyle regulation, cognitive reconstruction, linguistic regulation, and strengthening the heart confidence of the bereaved. The Islamic model of grief treatment can serve as the theoretical and practical basis for Islamic psychological interventions in coping with and treating grief, and can help psychologists and counselors who work with Muslim clients experiencing abnormal and complicated grief resolve their emotional, cognitive, and spiritual problems.Meanwhile, presenting this model is considered a step in the advancement and progress of Islamic psychology.
