Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of adolescents' religiosity in the relationship between perceived maternal parenting styles and adolescents' resilience. The research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population consisted of all first-grade high school students in the city of Qom. Using cluster sampling, 145 students were selected from three schools. The research instruments included the Parental Authority Questionnaire (to assess perceived parenting styles), the Adolescent Religious Orientation Scale, and the Child and Youth Resilience Measure (CYRM-28). The data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between the variables of perceived maternal parenting style, adolescents' religiosity, and adolescents' resilience. Furthermore, religiosity was found to play a mediating role in the relationship between perceived maternal parenting style and adolescent resilience. In other words, religiosity is recognized as a component influencing adolescent resilience, the formation of which is affected by a proper maternal parenting style. Therefore, modifying maternal parenting styles can lead to increased religiosity and, consequently, enhanced resilience in adolescents.
