The present study aims to present the application of the semantic field method in understanding the meanings of Quranic words with a psychological approach in the form of a case study on "fear" to the scientific community of psychology. During which the definition, substitute and opposite of the word fear, points of commonality and difference between the word fear in the Quran and anxiety in psychology were expressed with the approach of semantic field analysis.The findings of the study showed: a) The semantic field is effective in discovering the meanings of psychological words in the Quran; b) The companions of fear with negative components are: hunger, lack of wealth, life and food, sadness, disbelief, sedition, rebellion, divine punishment, polytheism, negligence, illness and doubt, and the positive components are: faith, perseverance, keeping a vow, reminder; c) Some substitute words for fear are: fear, piety and some of its opposite words are: security, greed, perseverance, mercy, piety, reform, joy and hope; d) The meaning of the word fear in the Quran is different from fear in psychology; e) The association of fear with the aforementioned words showed: sadness and fear are not inherently bad, but different in terms of their object; fear of God is good and fear of worldly affairs is bad; f) From the substitution and association of fear with the aforementioned words, it was concluded that fear of God is a fear that brings hope.
